Google launch Chrome Operating System

Google on Tuesday announced that they will be launching Google chrome Operating System very soon. This will be their second Operating system, Android being the first one. Chrome operating system will be the extension of Google Chrome’s browser code.

Google operating system is an open source operating system primarily targeting netbooks but will also serve good to desktop PC’s.

‘Google is working with several hardware manufacturers to deliver netbooks running Chrome OS in the second half of 2010’, Google said ‘Chrome OS will run on both x86 as well as ARM chips.’ There are some areas where Google and Android overlap but Google claims that there are enough differences to distinguish both. Android was developed for small devices such as mobile phones and set top boxes where as Google Chrome operating system is a web centric OS that is targeting the mass who spend majority of their time in front of their netbooks’s working on the internet.

The Operating system is still very naïve and no official words on other specifications of Chrome OS is out. So I guess we will have to wait and hope for the best.
