Quality Website Design

As a professional web design company, we have created and re-created many sites. The “great” ones have certain things in common. We thought we’d share those elements with you…

1. Website should be easily viewable to users without using the horizontal or vertical scrollbars. So it is said comfortably viewable.

2. The content on your site should be easy to use. Images are a great way to express your thoughts but should be used as minimum as possible, and the color selection should be matching to the business theme.

3. The navigation of your site should be easy so that the visitor can easily approach to any page from the index. Deep-links should be avoided. Sites navigation buttons should be grouped together.

4. Avoid dead -links. Dead links also known as broken links leave a bad impression on visitors and search engines. So for a quality website design you should pay a proper attention to the links.

5. Provide fresh content to visitors. You should regularly update the content so in this way you are providing fresh content to users and also to search engines. So both will be back to your site regularly.

6. Provide a separate page for contact. So that the people interested in your site can get back to you.

7. When creating a website the designer and developer should have a complete knowledge of compatibility of the browsers. Some websites are compatible on firefox some are compatible in IE only. You should check that your website should be compatible to all the major explorers.

8. Keep your targeted audience in mind and design the content so that the targeted audience like it and you should also pay attention to design of the pages.

9. Keep the page size minimum. You should keep the size of page as minimum as possible so that the load time of page is minimum. If you are using number of images and sound files or flash files the page takes more time in loading you should pay a little attention to it.

10. Use sitemap in footer only. You can see some sites that uses sitemap in header but it is not a good practice. you should also use the fonts that are easily readable.

A quality website is not only about using good graphics and images, several things matters in a quality website design as mentioned above.
